MCR – Sharing an Azure ExpressRoute to a Single Region

Are you familiar with these FAQs in Microsoft Docs Azure ExpressRoute FAQ(01) and Azure ExpressRoute FAQ(02)? What do they have in common? In summary, you cannot have multiple ExpressRoute circuits in the same peering location linking to the same virtual network gateway (associated with a virtual network – VNet).

What if…
A business has several different office locations (or multiple subsidiaries) and all want to connect to their single shared VNet each via dedicated high speed connection, and do not want to connect to second ExpressRoute peering location (which may be geographically separated to the primary though would add latency)?

Megaport Cloud Router (MCR) is a multi-cloud ready and expandable solution that solves this problem. With the designs below, we will show the common non-HA and HA scenario connecting from two discrete on-premises locations, with the design that meets Azure ExpressRoute SLA requirements.
